Why Teenage Lives are More Painful than Stepping on a Lego

We always see parents complaining about their teenage children. And it's true, we do cause trouble for our parents. But, we don’t do it because we like it. There are some reasons behind it. Most people think that teenage life is easy. No, it is not. Today’s generation is facing problems that no other previous generation had faced. Here are 8 issues that trouble a teenager’s day-to-day life.

1. Acceptance
A teenager struggles to accept a lot of things. They find it hard to accept things because of their inexperience, immaturity, and lack of perspective. For this, they need proper parental guidance.

2. Bullying

Despite having anti-bullying programs, bullying is a problem that almost every teenager faces. I still remember being bullied by my best friend in middle school. And, I didn’t have the courage to do anything. So, I just sat quietly and cried in corner of my classroom. I just hope that all the bullies out there will learn their lessons hard way and have a better life.

3. Beauty Standards

Every teen wants to fit in beauty standards. They think if they are in beauty standards then, they are attractive, and if they are not then, unattractive. This makes the person insecure about their body.

4. Insecurity

Teens are insecure about almost everything. Their weight, size, height, body shape, hairstyle, facial hair, and many more things. Due to this insecurity, they lack proper communication skills and are always Image conscious.

5. Bad sleep cycle

Nowadays, the Internet is accessible to almost all parts of the world. Teens, often use the internet late at night to chat or to do other things.

This disturbs their sleep cycle which makes them lazy.

6. Depression and Anxiety

Today’s generation is the most depressed generation ever. Suicide rates are at an all-time high. A bad education system and unsupportive communities are often the reason.

7. Trust

A lot of teens aren’t able to talk openly to their parents because of the generation gap. Thus, most of the time they keep their feeling all to themselves. Which gives rise to overthinking

8. Attraction

Every teen experiences this. Opposite gender attraction often distracts teens from their goals and other important things. If they don’t get attention from the opposite gender, they think that they are not good and unattractive.

Conclusion

Teenagers nowadays have a lot of things that trouble them. They often get under the wrong influence and end up doing something wrong. Teens need proper guidance from their parents and teachers. Parents should talk to their children openly, even if it is uncomfortable. And, should address these problems and their solutions. Because if they will not talk and teach then who will?
